Present >>>> Future

This article may seem extremely weird because I’m not going to talk about painful, strenuous wounds of the past, and surely not about the fascinating futuristic journeys. It’s all about the present. I think ‘the present’ is itself the gift for humanity. At least that thing will make them realize their fleeting time and the realization of their existence in the present tense.

As we speak, there are numerous people who are pretty used to saying things like “I used to do this when…”,” If I could have then I would have”,” If this didn’t happen then I would not be in the shape I’m right now”. I will admit that I also did the same mistake throughout the years. But now I have realized that I am supposed to cope with it ‘before it’s too late.

People think that their present lifestyle is a result of their good or bad past or a sign of a good or bad future. I want to say one thing to the people. “Consider yourself independent or perfect or whatever you like. Time and tide wait for none. So, it’s either you rectify your mistakes or prep yourself to regret them in the so-called future. Don’t blame the time.”

I was painting a picture here in my brain. “Once, a man went to some policy office to ensure the safety of his future. As usual, the agent asked about his financials and other concerning things. A few days later, the man suffered a major accidental injury and underwent costly surgery. He got the money insured by the policy and made a full recovery and went back home on his own feet.

You might want to tell me that there is nothing new in the story. I’ll give the twist here. This time, the man goes to a different office and asks for the same. But the receptionist gave him a note instead which read like this:

“Dear mankind, do not do foolish activities ever. I know you must be a businessman, an engineer, a scientist, an artist, a cabbie, etc. Do not assure your future with the help of money, assure it by obeying the duties and responsibilities given to you. Work hard in the present. Don’t get bothered by the past. Many wise people had said; “Journey is more important than the end or the start.”  You do not have to care about your future. Give your best in your present, for that is going to be the best possible infrastructure for your future. Do not spoil your present because of the creeping past or mysterious future. Let the mysteries be revealed at the right time. That is independent of your intensity of efforts. Be yourself, be proud of that, live every second, and become immortal in the limited lifespan.”

That man cried like a child after reading that note. It was an eye-opening note for him. So, I would like to have you thinking about the twist I put in the story. Because I know that this is pretty hypothetical, the receptionist would leave you crying with a note in your hand. He would just answer to what has been asked and leave you be with your work.

I am pretty sure the influencers out there and inspiring personalities in the world had done the same thing. We really do not have to consider the other two tenses. They’re good for language studies, that’s all. When an artist is doing his painting, he just puts some strokes of his brush on the canvas, not knowing anything about the outcome. When an enthusiast sees the picture, they see perfection in the abstract.

I wanted to share my view on this; so, this will be my first attempt in understanding the time or the present, in its essence.  You can choose to live and make the most out of the present that you have got or waste your time in the endless pursuit of the unknown. YOUR TIME STARTS NOW!

  1. I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
